Honorable Yolande Bain Horsford and Senator Brenda Hood were among the officials attending the grand opening ceremony of the Munich Bridge on the 24th January, 2008. The Munich Bridge which has been in existence since 1927 has never been refurbished by any other government. This bridge was an inconvenience to the people of Munich whereby the fire truck or any big truck could not get into the village. Hence the reason the Parliamentary representative saw it fit to refurbish the bridge for the people of Munich. Addressing the gathering Senator Brenda Hood made note of the fact that this government has invested millions of dollars into infrastructural development for the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique. Also addressing the gathering was Honorable Yolande Bain Horsford who enlightened the crowd of the cost of the bridge which was $109,600.00 She also commended the contractor Mr. Graphlyn Charles for the excellent job he has done. She also praised the people of Munich for the patience they have shown during the construction of the bridge and stated the benefits that the people of Munich would have gotten during her tenure as Parliamentary representative; benefits such as, road, street lights, old age pension, food basket etc. The cutting of the ribbon was done by the eldest female of the community, Ms. Savinny Guillaume and the eldest male, Mr. Gibbs gave a brief history about the Bridge and the community.
