Release from the Parliamentary Elections Office

The Parliamentary Elections Office views with great concern, comments purportedly made by Senator the Hon. Chester Humphrey indicating that the computer system at the office was tampered with by two (2) Jamaican Nationals, and he has the necessary evidence in his possession to substantiate this. The comments were made by Humphrey during a radio programme hosted by George Grant on Sunday 6th January 2008. Supervisor of the Parliamentary Elections Office Ms. Nordica Mc Intyre wishes to assure the nation that the comment made was completely erroneous and there is no factual basis that could or should influence Senator Chester Humphrey to make such a public statement.

The Office would like the Senator to disclose to the Public, the names of these persons and the date and time that they would have made their intervention at the Parliamentary Elections Office.

The Public is informed that the Parliamentary Elections Office continues to be independent of interference from any person and /or persons or entities, but it is always open to listen to the concerns of the Public and any other representation, and address them appropriately.

The Parliamentary Elections Office assures the Public that at all times the integrity of the Electoral process will be maintained.
