and Mrs. Jacqueline Noel |
Thursday
28th May 2008, St George’s: Sen.
the Hon Brenda Hood, Minister for
Communication, Works and Transport and
the NNP Candidate for the Town of St
George was awarded on Tuesday 27th May
2008 by the St George’s Seventh Day
Adventists School on Archibald Avenue
for her contribution to Education.
Sen. Hood
has contributed generously towards a
safety project which was initiated by a
teacher of the school, Mrs. Jacqueline
Noel, as part of her practical
assignment for earning a B.Sc in
Education from the University of the
West Indies.
The project
includes two new gates and a staircase
to guard students from venturing onto
the bustling streets surrounding the
school and for easier and safer access
to the school’s play ground.
Speaking at
a ceremony to highlight the project,
Minister Hood congratulated Mrs. Noel on
a job well done. She added that
the project enhances the school
environment but more importantly makes
it safer for the students.
Minister
Hood was also given the opportunity to
cut the ribbon for the official use of
the gates and staircase.
