St. George's, Grenada 19th
August, 2009:
Leader of Her Majesty’s
Opposition, Dr the Right
Honorable Keith Mitchell,
and the members of the New
National Party will like to
extend condolences to the
family and friends of the
late Dr. Lawrence Gibbs, who
passed away on Tuesday 18th
August, 2009.
The
Opposition Leader noted that
Doctor Gibbs must be
recognized for the
tremendous contributions
that he made towards the
development of this country
in the fields of medicine
and politics. Dr. Gibbs gave
yeoman service to this
country in the field of
Medicine, not only
in private practice, but
also public practice as he
spent many years as a
Government doctor attached
to the Princess Alice
Hospital at Mirabeau in the
parish of St. Andrew.
Dr.
Mitchell also noted that Dr.
Gibbs has had a positive
impact on the lives of many
Grenadians and will be
missed, not only because he
was one of the best doctors
on the island, but because
he understood the plight of
Grenadians and assisted many
persons by providing them
with free medical attention,
even without knowing some of
the clients.
