The NNP
National Women’s Arm takes the
opportunity to mark the significance of
this date, March 8th, in recognition of
the many milestones women around the
world have achieved in recognizing
gender equality and improved standards
of living, not only for themselves, but
indeed for their families.
Women today
have benefitted tremendously from the
struggles and sacrifices of their
sisters who years ago fought to improve
their economic circumstance and rise
from confining situations of poverty.
However today we still see too many
cases of domestic abuse, violence, lack
of basic health care and limited
educational opportunities plaguing women
of all ages in this New Millennium.
The New
National Party Women’s Arm calls on
government and civil society to rise
from the current state of “comfortable
conditioning” which seems to be
prevalent in our country, and work to
continue the meaningful education of our
entire population. Women today want
education that enriches our existence as
spiritual beings with the ability to
create healthy, vibrant, successful
families and communities. Women today
want education that shows us how to work
together to preserve and increase vital
resources wherever possible. Women
today want education that helps us to
find sound ways to be employed so we can
feed our families and continue sending
our children to school.
If you
would like to share your ideas on how we
can continue to work together, not only
for one day but for our lifetime, on
improving the lives of women who need
support now to grow and expand beyond
limitations please call our Women’s Arm
Headquarters at 440-1875. Thank you and
we hope that you enjoy this
International Women’s Day safely with
your families.
