List of questions submitted to Parliament


St. George’s, Grenada, April 14th, 2010: Leader of the Opposition, Dr. The Rt. Hon. Keith Mitchell says in the spirit of transparency, accountability and good governance, there are a number of important questions which the Tillman Thomas administration must give answer to; The following are a list of questions submitted to the parliament to which the former Prime Minister and the general public await answers. 

* Question 1  To The Prime Minister

(a)      Can you provide the wage bill (permanent and temporary staff) as of July 8th 2008 and the corresponding bill as of February 2010? 

(b)      b) Can the Prime Minister provide a list of the names of all persons in each Ministry who have been hired by the Government from July 8th 2008 to February 28th 2010?

(c)      c) Can the Prime Minister provide for each new employee, his or her employment classification, salaries, allowances and benefits?

(d)      d) Can the Prime Minister also provide the various concessions to which each new employee is entitled?

* Question No. 2  To the Minister for Finance

Can the Minister inform us of all revenue collected by Government in the following categories:  Customs, Inland Revenue and Others; for the periods:

July 2007 to December 2007

January 2008 to July 2008

August 2008 to December 2008

January 2009 to July 2009

July 2009 to December 2009

*Question 3  To The Prime Minister

Since established, what is the cost in emoluments, administrative fees and other expenses for the functioning of the committee set up by Government, comprising, Henry Joseph, Lloyd Noel, and Carol Bristol; to investigate projects undertaken by the former Government?

 Question 4  To The Prime Minister

Government has indicated that it has engaged forensic experts to investigate projects and financial activities of the past administration.  What has been the expenses incurred thus far in emoluments and other administrative cost.

 Question No. 5  To the Minister for Finance

(a) Can the Minister inform us of purchase price for the purchase of the Cable and Wireless (LIME) building on the Carenage?.

(b) For what purpose will this building be used?
