Grenada’s Opposition
Leader, Dr. the Rt. Hon. Keith C.
Mitchell was enthusiastically
greeted by
Supporters and Friends of Grenada
during a Sunday afternoon reception
in Brooklyn, New York. Nationals,
supporters, friends and community
leaders acknowledge the exemplary
and timely leadership of Opposition
leader Dr. the RT. Honorable
Keith C. Mitchell.
The Opposition leader
and former Prime Minister was lauded
for Leading Grenada especially in
time of crisis. Of interest was Dr.
Mitchell’s exemplary leadership of
Grenada through thirteen years of
political stability and economic
prosperity. Most echoed the mounting
belief that Grenada’s current
economic instability requires the
vision, stability, experience and
competency of Dr. Mitchell and his
New National Party (NNP).
Over eighty attendees
filled a conference room to
celebrate Dr. Mitchell’s
leadership. He didn’t disappoint
when he delivered a passionate
presentation highlighting the type
of leadership needed in times of
crisis in addition to recounting
Grenada’s progress made under the
NNP led government.
In a highlight, Dr.
Mitchell, greeted by a standing
ovation, stated “Most abroad and at
home are realizing in this current
time of economic and political
instability Grenada needs the
stable, competent and proven
leadership of the NNP”
Joy Rathan,
Chairperson of the St. Patrick’s
Support Group, NY, echoed the
concerns of most Grenadians in the
Diaspora when she stated “I keep
hearing about serious division with
the current government. They haven’t
kept their promises of being
accountable and transparent and they
keep trying to fight for power
instead of focusing on the problems
of my people.” She continued,
“Things are getting desperate and am
afraid for my brothers and sisters
in Grenada under the National
Democratic Congress (NDC)
government. They can’t manage the
economy and they haven’t provided
promised jobs for the youth and
support for the elderly”
Dr. Mitchell promised
that his party will continue to work
with supporters and friends to
provide the stable, competent and
proven leadership that Grenada
needs.
