St.
George's Grenada, January 27th,
2010: The New National Party is
calling on the Prime Minister of
Grenada, Hon. Tillman Thomas to take
decisive actions to save the jobs of
seventeen workers currently employed
at the Point Salines International
Airport.
The
Opposition NNP says the NDC
Government must now live up to its
election promise to protect ordinary
workers and their rights. The NNP is
concerned that the matter concerning
the 17 female workers is being
treated lightly by the Government
and that workers are being sent from
Minister to Minister without a
solution.
The New
national Party says the plight of
the workers must be given urgent
consideration since the women will
be placed on the breadline in a
matter of days.
The NNP
empathizes with the women concerned
and believe that Trade Unions, women
organizations and other Non
Governmental Organisations that have
defended workers in the past, and
all other women must join the call
for the Government to address this
matter.
