St. George’s, Grenada December 8th,
2011:
The New National
Party Caretaker for the Town of St. George, Mr. Nickolas
Steele calls is on the Government to make payment to the
members of his constituency who have worked in the debushing
program and after eight weeks (8) are yet to be paid.
Mr. Steele made the call after
a number of workers in the program from the town of St
George came to him asking for his assistance. Knowing the
value of the program to the many vulnerable families in the
constituency which is known by the parliamentary
representative, it is inconceivable that such inhumane
treatment could be meted out to those families.
The NNP caretaker for the Town
of St George calls on the Trade Union Movement to intervene
on behalf of the families who have been affected. “We all
are affected by the economic crisis the country is faced
with at this time, more so those workers whose only income
is from the program. Therefore, every effort should be made
to ensure that they receive their payment before the
Christmas season” Mr. Steele added.
“A government that promotes its
self as one with a heart for its people is expected to do
much better Mr. Steele commented.” Where is the
parliamentary representative Hon. Peter David, isn’t the
welfare of the constituents of the Town of St George of
great concern to him?
In closing the NNP Caretaker
states that on this issue the the Honorable Peter David
cannot sit on both sides of the fence. He must either stand
up and represent his constituents who are being advantaged
by the government or he stand up with a government that is
taking advantage of its most vulnerable. Will the real Peter
David Please Stand Up
