St. George’s, Grenada January 1st,
2012: As the
festive season continues, it is with pleasure that I
extend best wishes to all Grenadians and residents of
Grenada for a productive and fulfilling new year filled
with hope. In so doing I compliment all persons who
notwithstanding their own tight economic situation, have
given to the less fortunate throughout the year 2011 and
call on the others capable of so doing to follow this
noble gesture during the coming year.
I am well aware that many
of you unable to pay your bills, and devoid of
purchasing power, are without the basic necessities
leaving you to face the future with “dark” despair
instead of joy and peace of mind. I exhort you
nevertheless to take courage and instead of losing hope,
thank the Lord Almighty for all that he has done for us
in the past and believe that he will do the same for us
again in the coming year.
Let us make a special
effort to provide hope for our youth. In this regard I
call on all of us to collectively resolve to seek out
all children unable to attend school for whatever reason
and assist with their education. There are those for
whom a small contribution will do a lot. Let us not
forget them.
Usher in the New Year with
a strong resolve for a new togetherness and pray that
God will grant us the opportunity for making 2012 a
better year in all respects – spiritually, economically
and otherwise. Therefore whatever our circumstance, let
us strive to be happy and look towards the future with
hope.
Special New Year greetings
to all the individuals and organizations who supported
and continue to support my efforts to serve my community
and country.
May God grant all of us who seek peace, joy and
happiness throughout the coming Year and beyond, our
wish.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!
