ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA, Friday, August 02, 2013 - GIS: Prime Minister Dr. Keith Mitchell, MP Clifton Paul, and Ministers Anthony Boatswain, Alvin Dabreo and Kenny Lalsingh brought government to the people in an open constituency Forum at the River Sallee Government School on Thursday evening.

The Ministers briefed the audience on various government initiatives for the Parish of St. Patrick’s as a whole, and encouraged suggestions, questions and general comments, as they sought to “better deliver services to the people of the constituency, and the country, as a whole.”

Among the key concerns expressed by the constituents and addressed by the Ministers and Prime Minister, were immediate plans for repairs of, and the employment of a principal and plumber for the River Sallee Government School.

The “dilapidated” condition of school books handed out to students for the school year was brought into the discussion of ICT, and the government’s overall plan and timeline to provide accessible Tablets to students throughout the island.

Other topics discussed included Government’s plan for implementing sustainable employment initiatives throughout the country, its plan for casino gambling as it relates to Grenadian citizens, and the measures that will be undertaken to address the declining market and closure of businesses in the St. Patrick’s town of Sauteurs.

Other concerns on the agenda were the need to improve Health care services, and to provide basic health care supplies to citizens, as well as the need for provision of better support for our Physical Education Teachers and athletes.
