Subject: The Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture express condolences

ST. GEORGE'S, GRENADA,Tuesday, August 27, 2013 - GIS: The Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture wishes to express condolences to the family of the late Mr. Peter Phillip, a retired employee of the ministry who passed away over the weekend.

Mr. Phillip was considered a stalwart within the Ministry and the contribution he has made during his time at the Division of Culture is recognized and commended.

He almost single-handedly developed the Grenada Drum Corp, working with many students throughout the island of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

At this difficult time for the family, it is hoped that the positive memories of Mr. Phillip will ease their pain during this period of bereavement.

The kind and gentle manner displayed by Mr. Peter Phillip during his lifetime has served Grenada well and has enabled him to craft the artistic skills of many Grenadian students.

He will be greatly missed.
