Subject: SIR DANNY DESERVES A GOOD THANK YOU

Sir Daniel Williams deserves a good thank you as he prepares to demit office on November 18, 2008.Sir Daniel; you have served your country well and thank you. Sir Daniel came from very humble beginnings in Requin, St.Davids.He worked very hard as a School Teacher at the St.Davids Roman School where he later studied and obtained his Senior Cambridge. While teaching at the St.David's R.C School, he was very much involved in the Catholic Youth Organization; he was the Scout Master for a very long time and volunteered with many other organizations in the Parish. He later immigrated to the United Kingdom where he read Law and was successful. He was later admitted to the Grenada and St.Lucia Bar where he served as a Senior Magistrate and returned to Grenada to enter into private practice. He later entered politics and had the honor and privilege to represent his parish of St.David's as the Member of Parliament. Sir Daniel worked very hard for everything he achieved. Like many others, he did not get the opportunity to attend a Secondary School but worked very hard in St.David's to study. It was indeed a difficult time because there was no electricity at the time and Sir Daniel along with other friends like George "little donkey" Telesford, Bertie Braveboy now in Washington, DC, Gerald Hayling, also a Washington Resident, Clarence Passé Maryland Residence all used the candles, lanterns and Tilley lamps to achieve not only their current academic achievements, but as teachers, they took school work home and had to correct them at nights. So Sir Daniel, you have served this country well and many Grenadians who know you are very proud. Those who have found their medium to denounce and bring the office of the Governor General into disrepute should be very much ashamed of themselves. They are not only doing a disservice to the Queen’s representative, the other sad and painful part is the level of sheer ignorance and unawareness about Sir Daniel. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME, SHAME –if you have nothing positive to say, refrain from writing or posting nonsense. Formers Prime Minister Braithwaite or George Brizan can vouch for SIR Danny.
